    Lovely fresh flavours

Full of tropical fruits which you hit you straight away on the nose, and follow through on the palate. Surprisingly full of body for a white, in a very good way. Sweet on the finish. Really good stuff.

A strong white, which would work well with a range of foods. 5 stars for value for money.

Subtle bouquet but very fragrant. Taste lingers nicely. At £7.49 it’s good value!

So, I’d been working hard in the garden on a blistering hot day and my mind was focused on one thing, that ice cold tube of John Smiths. Finished work, cleaned up for dinner and opened the fridge door. There, next to the John Smiths was a bottle of Vale de Calada white; beads of perspiration adorning its body, not unlike mine prior to my shower; on reflection it could have been condensation! Anyway, something made me forsake the JS for the Vale de Calada and WOW! I could not believe it. This wine tasted fruity, fantastic and first quenching (always been a fan of alliteration!) With food or solo this wine is a winner offering great taste and value for money and the great thing is, you don’t really have to spend all day in the garden to deserve a bottle!

Tastes a little like a viognier. Nice wine. Honey, melon/banana smells.

Easy to drink, but great flavour.

Dry, light but with substance. Short aftertaste; well balanced.

Slight fizz on the tongue. Bready, sweet toast reminiscent of non-oaked chardonnay. Lengthy finish.

    Stays on the tongue.

V punchy. I am longing to try it with food – this will be my Christmas lunch white.
